Inspector Gadget Nets Award

Jun 18, 2015 | Company News, Insights

Australia’s Mining Monthly – A field inspection app, designed to aid predictive maintenance has earned Brisbane-based condition management solutions provider DINGO an award for mining equipment technology services (METS).

The company, which is more than two decades old, designed its Trakka field inspection app to complement its Trakka proprietary condition management software, aiding the ease with which workers can communicate data to the centralised system.

Designed for mobile devices, the app is an end-to-end solution which allows maintenance technicians to easily capture images, along with notes and ratings, while physically inspecting equipment.

This observation data then integrates directly with the Trakka software system, where a centralised expert can easily review, analyse and extract value from the data.

“We developed this product in response to the growing market need to use smart devices and images to improve maintenance decisions,” DINGO CEO Paul Higgins said.

“Winning the METS innovation award is a true testament to the creative spirit of our company. I am thrilled that DINGO has won this prestigious award.”

According to DINGO, the Trakka system is a cloud-based predictive analytical and workflow maintenance management tool for almost any time-series data, used to analyse and store asset and component condition information for the purpose of providing the knowledge to make informed maintenance decisions.

By reviewing historical data and keeping up to date with a piece of equipment’s performance and condition, a maintenance expert is able to make informed decisions on whether the equipment can continue working beyond its scheduled maintenance date and detect issues before they become costly.

The new app facilitates the gathering of data in real time for the system and fits smoothly into existing operations.

“Partnering with Dingo allows us to leverage remotely located condition intelligence experts from the get-go for a fraction of the normal cost to company. This allows our few reliability experts to focus on the top issues and make important decisions to ensure our fleet availability is where it needs to be instead of having them analyzing data and looking for the issues.
