Houston, Tx., December 8, 1999 - Conoco (NYSE: COC.A)
(NYSE: COC.B) today announced an alliance with Dingo Maintenance
Systems, a leading supplier of Oil Analysis software. Under
the terms of the agreement, Conoco and Dingo will jointly
offer US, Canadian and Mexican customers in the mining industry
a tailored program to improve the effectiveness of their
oil analysis programs. Much like the human equivalent of
a blood sample, Oil Analysis is a widely used predictive
maintenance technique in mining, where samples of a machine's
oil are analyzed to determine equipment health problems.
Dingo's latest software technology allows oil analysis
professionals to establish intelligent rules to enable the
automated generation of machine specific maintenance responses
to oil sample data. Through integration, these actions can
be posted directly into a Work Order Management System.
Conoco's customers now have an additional tool in their
kit to streamline maintenance using information technology.
"Many companies are already doing oil analysis, but
clerical paperwork and administration clogs up the decision
process. This limits the effectiveness of the whole Oil
Analysis program," said Chris Beasley, Sales Manager
for Conoco's Lubricants and Specialty Products group. "Dingo's
Software takes the hassle out of data management so that
busy mine maintenance people can make a better decision,
in less time."
Dingo Lube Professional is a comprehensive Oil Analysis
management system designed by Maintenance and Information
Technology Professionals to manage the entire oil analysis
program - from the time samples are taken through, to recommending
the correct maintenance action to be taken. The system includes
Sample Management, Exception Analysis, Trend Graphs, Expert
Alarms, User and Statistical Alarm Limits, Equipment and
lubricants database, History, Fuel and Oil recording, Reports
and Utilities.
Conoco is a major, international energy company, based
in Houston and active in 40 countries.
Dingo's software products include Dingo Lube Professional,
Dingo FleetOil Professional for Windows, Dingo Lube Explorer,
and Dingo Lab Manager. Dingo's customers include Alcoa,
Ansett Australia, Chicago Transit Authority, NASA, New York
Times, Illinois Power, Peabody Coal, Rio Tinto, Lake Superior
Paper, and Caterpillar dealerships in Australia and the
United States. Dingo also conducts oil analysis education
and is the Licensed Noria franchisee for Asia Pacific.
