Brisbane, Queensland (May 20, 2004)-Dingo Maintenance Systems, today announced the signing of an exclusive
agreement with Scientifics Ltd, a premier provider of oil analysis testing services based in Derby, UK. Under the agreement,
Dingo and Scientifics will jointly market Dingo's MaintenanceGuy Oil Analysis Software to customers in the UK and Europe.
The agreement is the next step in a relationship that started in
September 2003. Since that time, the joint offering has been adopted by some of Europe's premier
rail operators, including Eurostar, First Great Western Link, GNER and English Welsh and Scottish,
(EWS). The first customer to adopt the joint offering for their national fleet is Siemens Transportation
who are responsible for over 200 EMUs in the U.K.
"The new MaintenanceGuy system will enable us to
monitor the critical engineering components and give warning on tested samples in a timely and
efficient manner to avoid in service failures. It will also prolong the life of the oil,
used, thereby reducing costs." said, Neil Heaton, General Manager, Rolling Stock Service. "We believe
that the system will free up time for staff to work on other important projects and avoid
samples being missed", he added.
"Benefits that companies see from the new service include reducing the risk of
breakdowns, a critical consideration for Scientifics rail customers including Eurostar, Seimens and
Bombardier. "MaintenanceGuy allows Scientifics to provide a better, faster service to our customers
via the internet." Said Richard Bailey, Scientifics Managing Director. "This is a key component of
our strategy to expand our offering into the Transportation, Industrial and Plant & Equipment
markets." he said. "Clients can extend the intervals between oil changes from months into
years without detriment to the equipment. This can represent massive savings, far in excess
of the cost of the service"
MaintenanceGuy enables managers to maximize the benefits from a branch of maintenance engineering
known as oil condition monitoring analysis. Much like the human equivalent of a blood sample,
regular oil samples from a machine can be chemically analyzed to determine equipment health
problems. Dingo's Microsoft-based Internet service allows maintenance planners to view equipment
trends and draw conclusions from diagnostic data via any computer connected to the Internet.
Colour-coded alarms assure quick attention to at-risk equipment.
For companies with multiple sites, all this data can be
combined into one database, enabling comparisons and benchmarking of different equipment
throughout the company. Maintenance staff can then share information online with anyone, anywhere.
Dingo Maintenance Systems is a global leader in providing technical solutions in field of Oil Analysis.
