What is a “blanket PO”, as
referenced on the website?
To decide on which MGOAP Oil Analysis Test Package
is right for your site, follow the following 3 steps:
First
- select a lab
If your preferred lab is already in the list of
“Supported Laboratories” then make a note and move on to second step. If
your preferred lab is currently not in the list of supported laboratories, discuss
ConocoPhillips's laboratory certification program with your ConocoPhillips
representative, or call Customer service on 1-800-424-0173.
Second
- select the type of test kit -- either Industrial or Engine.
Note
that the combustion process of engines can have different effects on the oil,
than if the oil is used solely for lubrication (as in Industrial). Thus the
different tests for each.
Industrial Test
Kits -- should be ordered for
testing all components that are not engines. For example gear boxes,
hydraulics, transmissions etc.
(Then choose your level -- yellow, red or blue)
Engine Test Kits
-- should be ordered for testing on any engine components.
(Then choose your level -- yellow, red or blue)
Third
- select level of test -- Yellow, Red or Blue
Yellow
Test Kit
-- For sites with a new Oil Analysis program - only taking limited
samples and not yet doing in-depth analysis.
Red Test Kit --
For sites with an active oil analysis program..
Blue Test Kit
-- For the advanced Oil Analysis
program where detailed analysis is required, and test results are actively
reviewed as part of processes for extending oil drain intervals and extending
component life for example.

“Historical Data” refers to oil test results that have
been stored for your equipment from the past. This data will likely be stored by
the lab which performed the analysis for you. This is your data, and you
should be able to have access to it.
The “cleanliness” of this data varies considerably.
For the data to be most valuable, the historical records for each component
tested must be included. The data can only be as accurate as what was entered.
In the instance where samples were taken and the sample label manually
completed, a certain component such as Engine 123 and Engine-123 may be recorded
as two different Units.
Your historical data can be an
important part of your oil analysis program. After
all, each sample cost you money and tells a small story
about your equipment. We have developed a process for
cleaning up your data so that it is of most value to you in
interpreting future trends in your equipment. A
quotation for your data conversion into MaintenanceGuy can
be prepared upon your request.

A "blanket" Purchase
Order is a single order for a number of kits. As you
need additional kits, you send us a "release" from
this blanket order, and we ship additional kist direct to
you. This is preferred by some customers, as it
reduced paperwork by eliminating the need for a new Purchase
Order every time additional kits are required. Ask you
purchasing department about setting up a blanket purchase
order with us.
