Mining Innovation News - Dingo Software has been recognised for its innovative approach at the recent Austmine conference as it collected the Austmine Innovation Award for METS.

Dingo Software has been recognised for its innovative approach at the recent Austmine conference as it collected the Austmine Innovation Award for METS (Mining Equipment Technology Services) for its Trakka Field Inspection App.

The app has been designed for mobile devices and offers an end-to-end solution for field inspection data capture and analysis.

The solution allows maintenance technicians to take images, make notes and observations using a mobile device whilst conducting a physical insptection.

The data is integrated with Dingo’s condition management software to allow a centralised user to review and analysis the combined data to make maintenance decisions.

“Austmine was delighted to award Dingo the 2015 Austmine Innovation Award for METS,” said Christine Gibbs Stewart, chief executive of Austmine.

“Their Trakka Field Inspection App is a unique and novel development that is a simple, but incredibly effective method for addressing a very real need in the industry.

“It is intuitive, allows informed real-time decision making, and fits smoothly into existing operations.”

Paul Higgins, Dingo chief executive explained: “We developed this product in response to the growing market need to use smart devices and images to improve maintenance decisions.”

Elsewhere at the event, Carbine Resources won the Austmine Innovation Award for Miners, in recognition of its work of recommercialising the Mount Morgan gold and copper mine.
