TrakkaTM 1.1 released.

The task of finding equipment information and keeping track of critical reports in your growing reliability program just got a whole lot easier. Trakka v 1.1, the first update, was released on January 15, 2005. Two major features have been added to assist collaborative problem solving, streamline program administration and simplify use of the software:
  • Multi Object Events (MOE) - Assess machine condition more efficiently and accurately by having access to all your important condition information right on your oil analysis trends. Avoid the hassle and cost of integrating different systems by simply loading pertinent information into one web based system that Trakks it for you. Vibration reports, case studies, wear debris and thermographic images plus more can be viewed quickly and easily while reviewing Oil Analysis results. The information you need to make the best decision is at your fingertips when you need it.
  • Profiles - Stop spending time searching for and entering accurate equipment information. Simply link your assets, components, lubricants and more to a matching Trakka Profile and all the extra information such as description, lubricant capacity, equipment type, component list, typical viscosity etc display automatically.

These new tools further extend Trakka's industry leading feature set:
  • Group trending - compare oil analysis data from one unit to other similar units
  • Correlation finder - find trend relationships (e.g. lock-step) easily with independent trend scaling
  • Oil Sample inbox - access your latest samples instantly
  • Action Assurance - ensure problems are not missed and recommended maintenance actions are recorded
A multi-media demo is now available from Dingo on-line or on CD. This demonstration movie illustrates Trakka being used in a diagnosis of a fleetwide contamination control issue.

Customer Service Enhancements

Catalog Dingo's Customer Service team is constantly striving to exceed our customer's high expectations. Recently three members of the team attended a Customer Focus workshop to learn about new and innovative ways we could improve our level of customer service.

The team gathered a wide range of new ideas which they will be implementing over the coming weeks. All up, the team identified approximately 50 new ideas in 8 major categories, and have developed a prioritized plan from implementation. The most immediately noticeable of these changes for our customers will be:

  • Increased telephone support hours starting Jan 31st (8am - 8pm ET)
  • Expanded online support documentation & knowledge base to facilitate self help
  • Hiring of a new staff member for proactive customer contact
  • New "How to" guides & demos for common issues that will be accessed through our websites
Dingo is making these investments in our teams, to continue to improve the quality of customer service and we always appreciate customer feedback on how we are doing. We would encourage you to give us some feedback on our efforts by completing a simple online feedback form.

Pocket MaintenanceGuy Goes Gold at Kinross

Pocket MaintenanceGuyIn January, Kinross Gold became the first Dingo customer to successfully implement Pocket MaintenanceGuy. Pocket MaintenanceGuy was provided to Kinross by their lubricant supplier ConocoPhillips as part of a range of custom services designed for the mining industry - including a site specific lube survey. Pocket MaintenanceGuy enables Kinross Maintenance staff to have a complete portable reference guide for all of their lubricated equipment, in the palm of their hand.

Data includes equipment make, model, lube details and application method. Unlike traditional printed lube surveys which are often quickly out of date, the PDA stays up to date through synchronization with a web based database. As staff begin sampling and testing with the AnalysisPlus oil analysis program, the Pocket MaintenanceGuy PDA is also updated with new oil analysis data and lab comments. Field staff can add notes to the PDA to be synchronized back to the main database for analysis by any authorized user.

Kinross Gold acquired the Fort Knox open pit mine, located near Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1998. The Fort Knox operation consists of the main Fort Knox open pit and the True North open pit located approximately 15 kilometres northwest of Fort Knox. Gold equivalent production for 2003 was 391,831 ounces.
